Abstract: Standard first-line treatments for OCD may not provide sufficient relief of OCD symptoms for all those seeking care; thus, there is an urgent need for alternative treatments.  This lecture will review research and potential treatment advances in OCD including experimental medications, neuromodulation, and combining pharmacologic and psychological treatments. Additionally, interdisciplinary collaborative research suggests that changes in fronto-striatal circuits may be important for ketamine’s therapeutic effects in OCD.
